Rainbow Futures WA

Rainbow Futures WA is disappointed that the government has delayed long-awaited surrogacy and artificial reproductive technology (ART) reforms after promising to introduce them before the upcoming election.

Each passing month prolongs uncertainty for individuals and couples hoping to start families, causing distress and disruption to their plans.

Whether people are seeking a surrogate or wishing to share embryos, the path forward is clear. It’s time for the Cook government to act and ensure our laws reflect equality.

Our families are strong, diverse, and resilient, built on overcoming challenges. However, these unnecessary delays add to the complexity of an already difficult process.

When parliament resumes next year, securing these reforms will be one of our top priorities.
